Hybrid/4 days onsite (Bethesda, MD Office)

Internship 2024: Assist our engineers with research and design calculations (wood, concrete, steel, masonry). Assist our engineering staff with structural investigation and report writing. May require ascending ladders, climbing in attics, and carrying up to 20 lbs. of equipment short distances.  TEC provides investigation equipment. Site visits should be expected, and the use of your personal vehicle will be required. Shadow our engineers at meetings. Learn and utilize Ram Structural System software. Learn and execute drafting and modeling in AutoCAD and Revit. Report to our 8120 Woodmont Avenue, Suite 752, Bethesda, MD 20814 office Monday thru Thursday. Work remotely on Friday’s.

Qualifications: Minimum 2nd year completion of accredited engineering school. Completion of Statics and strength of materials classes.

Hybrid or Virtual-location dependent (DC/MD/VA region)

Senior engineer:  Structural design under the supervision of a project manager and principal in charge.  Assist with CAD, modeling in Revit under direction of senior staff. Some supervision of drafting and backcheck of work.  Structural assessment, damage investigation, report writing, and repair design. May require ascending ladders, climbing in tight spaces, and carrying up to 20 lbs. of equipment short distances. TEC provides investigation equipment. Approximately 15%-30% of your time. Site visits and the use of your personal vehicle will be required.

Location options: “Virtual” work. You are not required to come to our office but are required to reside in the DC/Baltimore area to attend meetings and visit sites in the region. TEC supplies equipment to do your job.  “Hybrid” or “Full time in office” at our Bethesda, MD location.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred).  2-3 years’ experience in Building Design.

Hybrid or Virtual-location dependent (DC/MD/VA/PA region)

Project Manager: Structural design, rehabilitation and construction administration of buildings and site structures.  Manage the day-to-day aspects of small to mid-size projects with the input of a principal in charge. Supervision of drafters, and Engineers, work with contract labor, training of new staff. Modeling and drafting (Revit and Autocad) of projects assigned with minimal direction from senior staff. Assemble project layout and utilize repeat projects to assist in project assembly.  Structural assessment, damage investigation, report writing, and repair design. May require ascending ladders, climbing in tight spaces, and carrying up to 20 lbs. of equipment short distances. TEC provides investigation equipment. Approximately 15%-30% of your time. Site visits and the use of your personal vehicle will be required. Attend industry events for business development. 

Location options: “Virtual” work. You are not required to come to our office but are required to reside in the Philadelphia, PA to Northern VA to attend meetings and visit sites in the region. TEC supplies equipment to do your job.  “Hybrid” or “Full time in office” at our Bethesda, MD location.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred).  Professional Engineer license. 4-10 years’ experience in building design.

Hybrid or Full time in office (Bethesda, MD Office)

Hybrid or Full time in office (Boise, ID Office)

Structural Engineer: Structural design under the supervision of a project manager and principal in charge. Assist with CAD, modeling in Revit under direction of senior staff. Some supervision of drafting and backcheck of work. Structural assessment, damage investigation, report writing, and repair design. May require ascending ladders, climbing in tight spaces, and carrying up to 20 lbs. of equipment short distances. TEC provides investigation equipment. Approximately 15%-30% of your time. Site visits and the use of your personal vehicle will be required.
