Brian Tarantino, P.E., LEED AP
With more than 22 years of providing of structural and forensic engineering expertise to some of the most highly-regarded firms in the country, Brian launched Tarantino Engineering Consultants in 2013 to provide clients with quality deliverables in a collaborative manner. His range of experience allows him to bring unique solutions to every project with which he engages, and his personable style has clients returning again and again. He has an excellent track record of bringing projects in within original budgets and schedules.
With a Bachelor’s degree from University of Delaware and Master’s from University of Maryland, Brian has made a number of professional presentations to peers and students in both programs. He also has authored articles for several international engineering publications, and has served on a number of technical committees for national design organizations.
One of Brian’s favorite aspects of his job is the opportunity to combine personal and professional passions. A fan of both craft beers and mountain biking, he’s been able to work with a number of Maryland-based breweries and still find time to race and sponsor a mountain biking team.
Lee Ressler, P.E., S.E.
Lee’s professional experience encompasses over nine years providing structural engineering services including design, project management and forensic investigation for various commercial and residential clients. Licensed as both a Professional Engineer (PE) and a Structural Engineer (SE), he brings a passion for creative thinking and problem solving to each project, along with a commitment to client service. With extensive involvement in a wide range of project types, including educational, laboratories, offices, residential and government facilities, he’s prepared to tackle the most challenging jobs.
As a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Lee’s education launched his career in the Baltimore-Washington DC corridor.
When he isn’t chasing down deadlines, Lee often is participating in races of another kind. As an avid distance runner, he enjoys both trail and road running, and usually is training for the next competition, whether it’s a marathon or the neighborhood 5k.
Richard F. (RJ) Walker, Jr., P.E.
As a Structural Manger/Engineer, RJ’s experience includes civil and structural engineering for projects ranging from large-scale high-rise buildings to seismic evaluations of dam and hydraulic structures.
A licensed professional engineer in Maryland, New York, North Carolina, and Washington, DC, RJ earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Syracuse University and his Masters of Engineering in Structural Engineering from the University of Maryland.
As an undergraduate, RJ held an internship in Dubai as one of six students who were selected to work on three high-rise building projects – including the 014 Tower featured on the Discovery Channel for its unique outer shell.
A Draftsman at TEC, Matthew combines his technical knowledge with his years of experience working as a steel detailer to generate detailed CAD drawings for structural design projects, as well as conducts site visits for forensic investigations. He works with the engineers to determine the specifications within the design plans and creates the drawings and schematics necessary for the TEC team to ensure structural integrity on every building project. His proficiency in drafting technology and techniques provides the critical detail necessary to facilitate the design and engineering process for commercial and residential clients.
When not working with the team at TEC, Matthew is out on the field supporting his sports’ teammates playing soccer and baseball.
Phil develops structural solutions for new construction and renovation projects as part of the collaboration between project team members, architects, and owners. He manages project deadlines and coordinates with contractors during the construction process. His experience with structural design and forensic engineering for a variety of facility types – from parking garages to hospitals to bridges – provides a solid foundation and understanding of building codes and structural detailing.
Phil earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland.
Outside of TEC, Phil is pursuing his Master’s Degree at Villanova University and still finds time for hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, running, and playing or watching basketball.
A mother of four children with a business technology background, Nina applies her project management and organizational skills to ensure permit applications comply with building codes and regulations. Her role at TEC leverages her problem-solving, tenacity and technical talents by managing office administration activities and expediting permits for our clients through the appropriate channels at various Maryland county offices.
When not chasing down permits or managing a family of six, Nina enjoys traveling and reading; and consistent with her process-oriented role at TEC, likes challenges ranging from wiring ceiling fans and designing kitchen layouts to solving complex computer and data issues.
